FOREIGN JOURNALISTS DEMAND ACCESS TO PAPUA , CLIMBING THREE WALLS OF AUSTRALIAN CONSULATE

Jayapura , 6/10 ( JUBI ) - " We need your help . Our shelter and begged for our salvation . We do not feel safe in Papua . "Three Papuans are occupying the Australian consulate in Bali on Sunday morning , October 6, 2013 ( approximately 06:30 pm ) Abbott called on the government to press Indonesia to release all Papuan political prisoners and open access to foreign journalists to enter the province .Third Papuans are Jerewon Mark , 29 , Yuvensius Goo , 22 and Rofinus Yanggam , 30 . All three entered the Australian consulate to climb the wall of the consulate office .In an open letter to the people of Australia , which is submitted to the consulate staff , the three wrote , " We write to inform you that we entered the Australian consulate in Bali to seek protection and to convey our message to the leaders of APEC in Bali including U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry Australian prime Minister and Tony Abbott . We want these leaders to persuade the Indonesian government to treat the Papuans better . "All three are also requested , by letter so that all Papuan political prisoners were released ." We want foreigners , including journalists , diplomats , observers and tourists to visit West Papua freely without special permission . " Wrote the three.The group's spokesman , Rinto Kogoya , who is Coordinator of Papuan Students Alliance , said it was time the world know what is happening in the province , which was formally annexed by Indonesia in 1969 ." The international community does not know the reality in Papua . Oppressive military civil society - we are not free to do anything - and I think this is the time to open up democracy to Papua , " said Rinto Kogoya . ( Jubi / Guardian / Victor Mambor )
